Ice Fishing

The guys from Wisconsin were a little peeved; the International Olympics committee were not going to approve ice fishing as a new Olympic sport.  It didn’t seem fair–curling, all types of skating, the luge, bob sledding and skiing were all ice and snow sports, and the biathlon was just cross country skiing and shooting.  Sure, Jamaica, Egypt, and Dubai were at a bit of a disadvantage for places to practice in the off season, but then that applied to curling, skating, and skiing too.  Besides, what other sport provided fried fish or sushi for snacks after the event . . . ?

Change of Plans

Billie, Tom and Manfred had practiced long and hard for the Olympic bobsled team, but just couldn’t find a fourth player.  Since emigrating from Africa years before, they had come to love their new home and wanted to participate in the bobsled or Luge events to represent their new home.  The feeling was that based on Newtonian physics, their mass, once in motion,  could only help.  Without a team of four though, their application was rejected.  Maybe one of the swimming events?   Manfred promised to get on eBay right away and buy their Speedos.

New Olympic Sport

Hideo Yamaguchi was very frustrated; he couldn’t get the International Olympics to listen to his idea.  They had no problem accepting Judo, Karate, Kung Fu and other martial arts sports, why wouldn’t they consider flower arranging as a summer sport?

Speedo Blues

Harvey was more than a little depressed; he had watched with awe and admiration the diving competition at the Olympics on TV at his favorite sports bar. He decided to give diving a try at the local YMCA.  His girlfriend was visiting New York and promised to bring Harvey a Speedo (they were hard to find in Montana).  All she could find in his size was in pink, which Harvey thought was not all that masculine and proper for an Olympic contender,  especially when he saw the embroidered “Save The Ta Tas” logo displayed across the backside . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Improper Attire

Sue Billy from Corpus Christi (a beach town) had been playing beach volley ball since she was eight, and she wanted more than anything to be on the US team for the London Olympics, but her physique, though fit, toned and muscular, didn’t lend itself to wearing a bikini.  When she showed up for tryouts, she was told her outfit was improper attire. . . . .  David, Sf.G.
