Petey was unhappy; his plan for riches hadn’t materialized. He had called his lawyers to get them to file an animal exploitation lawsuit on behalf of his family against the St. Louis baseball team and tried to get it ruled a class action suit against all teams using animal  names like Timberwolves, Wolverines, the Grizzlies, the Orioles, the Sea Hawks and the Devil Rays.  Right Away, the Catholic Church wanted in–the Padres, the Saints, and the Angels.  When it was suggested that the teams use numbers,  somebody asked what about offending Numerologists and mathematicians.  Just too many slices in that pie . . .

Name Change

When Johnnelle heard that the Washington Redskins had had their Redskins name and logo trademarks  cancelled–supposedly five Native Americans were offended–she emailed the club explaining that she had gone on Facebook and Twitter to poll her fellow butterflies.  Turns out none objected to having a major football club (pointy ball, not round) named after them.  The name “The Butterflies” was theirs for the taking . . .

In the Rough

When Llewellyn had booked his Texas golf vacation, he had been intrigued by the description of the Blue Elbow Swamp course (just west of the Louisiana border) that had been billed as “In the rough”.  Turns out the claim wasn’t just hyperbole, and there was no extra charge for the opportunity to mingle with the gators or cottonmouth water moccasins.

Hearing that local girls and diversity were strong points when selecting the new members for the Texans Cheerleaders squad, Twyla Sue and Mindi had tried out and been hopeful–sadly, they didn’t make the cut . . .

Cheerleading Camp

The girls were so excited to be at a real professional cheerleading camp; it had cost their parents a bundle.  They seemed to take to the regimen fairly well, but getting everybody to synchronize all of their moves had proved to be more difficult than they had imagined . . .
