The Hills Are Alive

Every morning, as the herd climbed up the slope to the grassy hillside to feed, Eunice (middle, skylined) would burst out with at best a fair version of “The hills are alive . . .” even though everyone was sick to death of that song, sung by anyone.  Why couldn’t she change up to  “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?,” “Satisfaction,” “Light My Fire”, “I’ve Got You Babe”, “Viva Las Vegas”, or even “I Was Born This Way”, or “The Hokey Pokey”–anything but “The Hills Are Alive . . .?”

Dancing With the Stars’ Pets

To regain some lost market share, Dancing With The Stars decided to try Dancing With The Stars’ Pets.  David drew Lady Gaga’s pet alligator, FiFi, and found that teaching her to pirouette on her tail was more difficult than he had thought, though the catfish treats seemed to be helping . . .

Frizzy

First it had been  Madonna, then Pink and Lady Gaga, now Frizzy thought she would have a go at the pop music circuit.  Her first single hit, “Howl like a she wolf,” while short on actual lyrics, carried with it with raw emotion of the head back, wide-open-mouth canine howl at the moon that some claimed she borrowed from Texas Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee when complaining about George W. Bush . . .

Fading Fast

While on site checking out the scenery for a film to be shot on the Texas Gulf Coast, Madonna and Lady Gaga were watching a stunning Gulf Coast sunset when Madonna said to Lady Gaga, “It seems like being on top of the world, being famous and popular, but take it from me, girl, it’s fading faster than you can imagine.”

Mockery

Timothy, a true mockingbird,  could imitate anyone, Vladimir Putin, Ronald Reagan, Billy Mays, Madonna,  any of the British royals, Lady Gaga . . . anyone.  He was growing frantic, though; if he didn’t develop a style of his own, he’d be condemned to B list hotel lounges doing Elvis, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Jones requests for drunk tourists and road warriors for the rest of his life . . .

Bling and Flash

Bonnie had done better at the local Karaoke bars singing than she had anticipated, and now she was headed for Nashville–country was her thing. But, she realized, in addition to Dolly Parton’s “big hair,” Rock stars like Madonna and Lady Gaga, also crowd pleasers, were never were short of bling and flash, and she thought she would follow suit. To begin with, she was thinking gold nails with mother of pearl inlays, spelling her name–either Gator Girl or Gator Baby–but decided not to use her boyfriend’s suggestion “Cold-Hearted Mama”.
