A Little Dignity

Robert  had graduated from the University of Phoenix (On Line) with a degree in  pest control and a master’s in rodent eradication.  He hadn’t minded being called “Bob” (not your uncle) while in school, but thought that now that he was successful in the rodent control business, he should be a accorded a little more dignity and be called Robert . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Noise in the Back

Jordan kept telling her boyfriend that she heard quite a lot of noise in the back of the truck; he blew her off and said, “It’s probably just loose tools or empty beer cans–don’t worry.”  And then one day he checked and was pretty sure he found the cause of the noise . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Bad Jokes

Out of kindness, Jimmie, the host of the summer’s end party, invited Vinnie, notorious for his bad jokes, with the promise Vinnie would keep quiet and  tell no jokes.  After a few beers and a couple of shots of Grey Goose and being rebuffed by several chicks he hit on,  Vinnie was not to be denied.  Clad only in his Speedo, Vinnie began his repertoire; as expected, the other guests couldn’t take flight fast enough, leaving Vinnie in his Speedo telling jokes to a tallow-wood tree. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Pink Stand-In

While attending a “Pink” concert, Bernice had been approached by one of the entourage who asked if she would consider joining the tour and being an emergency lip syncing stand-in.  “Of course,” she replied, perhaps a little too quickly, “I can even lip sync under water; watch this.”  The call to join the group hasn’t come yet. “Maybe I’m not “pink” enough,” she thought. “Maybe I should be talking to Pink Floyd”. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

The Grass Is Always Greener

Since pizza, chocolate and beer ( the three essential food groups) were not often available for Simon (pictured), he felt he was entitled to the best grass–and yes, it was  always on the other side of the fence.  . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Upside Down

Upside Down
When young Lester got home from school one day he heard his father sounding somewhat hysterical and asked why.  His father said, ” I got downsized today, lost my pension, and the bank is going to repo the house; my whole world is upside down.”  Young Lester said, “I know what you mean; I sometimes feel that way; let me show you”. . . . .  David, Sf.G.
