I Feel Pretty

When Elise’s boyfriend dumped her, she was left feeling ugly and unloved.  To help her, her friends paid for a trip to the day spa for her.  She couldn’t believe how the pampering, the mud packs and mani-pedi recharged her self esteem.  As she walked to her car, she couldn’t help but burst out in song–“I feel pretty, oh so pretty. . .”

Johnny was consumed with his heritage, and to get answers, he had signed up for ancestry.com.  He had reached the end, and it looked like he was related to Barry Goldwater, the conservative Arizona senator; Marian Berry, the disgraced coke-snorting D. C. mayor; Barry Manilow; or Chuck Berry.  He was pretty sure it was not all of them . . .

Not Updated

When Louise picked up her rental car at the airport, the counter guy pressed her to take the GPS option–no way she could get lost or be late with the latest technology.  Within a short time though, when she came to the bridge, she was pretty sure that the GPS or the satellite data base hadn’t had an update in recent times . . .

New Egret

The deal had been simple, Brian (large, brownish red) agreed to give Tiffany (small, white, yellow beak) a free ride and all the bugs she could eat, but clearly she wasn’t “Takin’ care of business”.  For proof, he showed her his left shoulder and side.  And he was tired of her snide remarks like “Don’t let it bug you” as well . . .

Light My Fire

As Bubba burned the scraps from his recent remodel and, the truth be told, from his adult kids’ trash they were too cheap to take to the land fill, he just couldn’t help himself from belting out his somewhat unsophisticated version of the Jim Morrison/Doors favorite “Come On Baby, Light My Fire . . .”  As the fire settled down to embers, he switched to Peggy Lee’s “Fever”.  “What  a lovely way to burn. . . “
