Nursing in Public

Mandy’s boss categorically stated that she couldn’t nurse on the job in places open to the public.  He claimed the new health care law offered free formula for just such cases.  Then, driving home and listening to some of the conservative talk show guys, she was told to be really careful– that formula was laced with secret “liberal enzymes” creating an incurable addiction to big government.  They further stated that it was made by a start-up rebirth of Solyndra, the failed Solar Panel start-up . . . . . No Way

First, Lila had gotten notice  that she was cut back  to just under 30 hours per week and had her employer’s health insurance cancelled. Then it had taken all day to get through to the new online  health insurance exchange, and when she finally got connected, she found out the premiums would cost over half of her take home pay.  The straw that broke the camels back was her three almost-grown kids telling her they had decided to live at home until they were 26 so they could be covered by her health insurance plan. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Fungus Blues

Georgina had the blues– being a mushroom is tough.  First,  they keep you in the dark and feed you, well, you know,  and then for her  to get knocked over so that all the boy mushrooms can see what’s under her skirt, well, where did the indignities end?  When you take a second ( that’s all you really have when you’re a mushroom) to think that your whole life is over in two days, it all seemed just a little much.  And, “Good luck,” she thought, trying to find affordable health coverage on the Obamacare  exchanges in time.   . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Pollster Blues

Lonnie (pictured) had recently gotten his first cell phone and a wireless tablet, and apparently someone had immediately data mined his information and sold it to the pollsters.  Just today he was asked what he thought of the Trayvon Martin case, the stand your ground laws, Obama Care, immigration reform and did he prefer WalMart over Target?   Maybe his pre-wireless ignorance had been bliss . . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Understanding Obamacare

When Larry’s accountant finally explained what he thought (though he was still unclear on) about how Obamacare would affect Larry and his herd, Larry did the only thing he could think of —he headed for Canada with the girls and the kids. . . .  David, Sf.G.

Undecided

The Board of Directors was split on the issue of health insurance:  Should they keep offering insurance to their employees, or make them go to the health exchange?  They had a record of being very good to their workers, but this was a tough decision, and Gwen (center) was the swing vote. . . . .  David, Sf.G.
