Oh Deer!

Ida, on hearing that the U S would open an embassy in Havana, applied for a job as a diplomat, but was told that the probable response to meeting her would be “Oh Deer,” and that didn’t translate well into Cuban Spanish, possibly causing uncomfortable moments.  The State Department suggested she should apply at Interior, where her “Oh Deer” could go quite well with the news of shrinking budgets for Interior to cover shortfalls for the Affordable Care Act.

No Suppressed Feelings

When some Montana residents were asked by the pollsters how their new Federally Mandated health insurance programs were working out compared to their previous health care plan, one said “Fair,” two refused to comment, while two showed their appreciation without uttering a word . . .

Busted Flipper

While playing girls’ football (Soccer), Cynthia had suffered a broken arm.  Her teammates jokingly referred to it as her busted flipper.  As things turned out, her new government mandated insurance policy that cost more than her old policy didn’t cover busted flippers or any sports injuries, as well as quite a few other things . . .

Tight Knit Family

Even though they had lost their home in the economic crash, their jobs, their health insurance, and their doctor, they still had each other, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.  They could be electronically miserable along with thousands of others all over the world in real time . . .
