Kevin had followed Thomas’s twitter feed long enough to know they had a lot in common and arranged a face to face. Sadly, there were no Starbucks in the neighborhood, so they settled on the old Cajun favorite, Crawfish Pie from a local take-away. That sealed the deal–they were now BFFs until mating season when all bets were off . . .

Green Grow the Lizards

Gabriel was always a little miffed about the whining and sniveling from Kermit, the Sesame Street frog, about how hard it was to be green.  His best pick-up line was, “Hey,  good lookin’! I’m the color of money! Interested in getting a Green Mountain brew at Starbucks?”

No Laughing Matter

The guys knew they were called Laughing Gulls, and they usually had a good time in the morning, a Starbucks, an Egg-a-muffin, but today, after hearing the morning news–the Tex-Mex border problems (just down the road), Ebola in West Africa, hurricanes in Hawaii, fighting in the Ukraine, and of course the ongoing Middle East drama– they realized the news today was no laughing matter  . . .

Not From Starbucks?

While vacationing in Costa Rica and on the way to Poas, the volcano, Liz pointed out the coffee farms (fincas) to her daughter, eight year old Holly, and told her that’s where coffee comes from.  Looking perplexed, Holly asked, “It doesn’t come from Starbucks?” . . . .  David, Sf.G.
