J. R. had been drafted by the Broncos but cut from the roster after only a year.  He was now a Free Agent and hoped to get on with the Texans.  The Broncos had said that even for a lineman he was big and he was quick, but with those short legs he just wasn’t tall enough . . .

Not An SR71 Blackbird

Since birds couldn’t play football (either American or Soccer) or baseball, while growing up, they liked to play flying games, imitating fighter jets. Fast turns, diving, flying almost straight up–what a good time! Henry dearly wanted to have his friends call him SR71 after the famous SR71 Blackbird super spy plane. His buddies, though, said, “Get used to disappointment; until you can fly 2,000 MPH at 70,000 feet, we’re just going to call you Henry.”

A Little Crabby

It had been meant to be a fun family gathering to watch the Texans/Ravens match, but as the non-stop political ads kept coming, so did the political polarization of the family.
