Truth in Advertising

The “For Sale by Owner” advertisement on the Internet had referred to the building as “Quaint”, “Lots of country charm,” “One of a kind” and the statement, “Need for some minor repairs forces seller to accept a lower price.”  The ad also said “pictures on request.”  It soon became clear why pictures weren’t included in the original Craig’s List ad. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Free Computer

When John saw the Craigslist ad, “Free Computer,” he was intrigued and read the rest of the ad: “Optional max ventilation installed for extra cooling, may need some repairs.”  A closer look at the accompanying photo, however, gave him reason for concern. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

A Troubling Thought

While wading in the water just off the public beach, Bob saw a convoy of black vans and pursuit cars skid to a halt not far from him in the sand.  As the armed SWAT teams got out, the leader, using a bullhorn, told Bob, “Don’t worry, we’re from the Internet,” but he was not comforted.   Bob realized that he had been caught breaking the rules; he had placed the same ad on Craigslist twice at the same time in the same city,  using two two separate E-mail addresses . . . .  David, Sf.G.
