Don’t Forget . . .

As he came in the front door and was met by his wife Twyla, Howie couldn’t help but remember (too late) his wife’s text with a list of needed things before the stores closed for the holiday.    He then remembered that he had not only forgotten to stop at the store, but had forgotten his  cell phone on his desk at work; maybe one too many toddies at the office party was Twyla’s guess. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

A Little Too Much Sun

Karen’s mother had been right; she should have used sun block.  But Karen (pictured, center) refused to give her mother the satisfaction of always being right, so she would  just have to slather on the olive oil and suffer in silence and hope this wouldn’t cause basal cell carcinoma some day.  She did wish her Nordic/Viking genes would have let her tan instead of burn . . . . A Job With the Band

Jim Bob (pictured) even though from Texas, had never really liked country music.  His real love was Tchaikovsky –Swan Lake, etc.   After band in high school, a degree in music from the University of Phoenix (on line), and finally taking a doctorate in modern classics from Juilliard, Jim Bob was hoping for a job with a major orchestra, maybe in the percussion section, where his natural talents lay. . . . . No Sunscreen Needed

Conrad and his girlfriend, Sue, had both been working lots of overtime, and while it made for good paychecks, there seemed to be no time for fun.   Finally they had a morning off to drive to the beach, but something told them they wouldn’t need sunscreen today. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Bad Data

When the cheery voice on his GPS told Nick to turn left at the bridge,  his suspicions were confirmed; his unit was getting bad data. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Twilight

Brian, having just returned from a trip that included New York, Chicago, and Mexico City, was sitting on his dock on Chocolate Bayou, having a beer, waiting for twilight.   He was reminded of why he didn’t live in the city . . . . .  David, Sf.G.
