New Mascot

Edwin had seen a segment of the news talking about the use of names like Warriors, Braves, or Redskins, and how the ACLU was suing everyone in sight for “disrespecting” Native Americans, and so he went to the local college to offer himself as the new mascot.  The basketball team embraced the idea and quickly explained to Edwin that in addition to mascot duty, he could play an active part in the game . . .

Bling and Flash

Bonnie had done better at the local Karaoke bars singing than she had anticipated, and now she was headed for Nashville–country was her thing. But, she realized, in addition to Dolly Parton’s “big hair,” Rock stars like Madonna and Lady Gaga, also crowd pleasers, were never were short of bling and flash, and she thought she would follow suit. To begin with, she was thinking gold nails with mother of pearl inlays, spelling her name–either Gator Girl or Gator Baby–but decided not to use her boyfriend’s suggestion “Cold-Hearted Mama”.

Beach Bum

Kenny had finally had it–he quit his job, moved out of his parents home, and headed for the Texas Gulf Coast beach–free at last, a beach bum.  But as the weeks went by, he found that it wasn’t like the beaches on Hawaii Five-O.  There weren’t that many bikini clad chicks anxious to make his acquaintance,  nobody offered to teach him to surf, and without money, it was tough to eat well–but wait; was that Miley Cyrus or Lady Gaga down the beach there?  Hope springs eternal . . . . . . A Kiss is Still A Kiss

True, it didn’t summon up memories of Bogart and Bergman with Sam playing “As Time Goes By (A Kiss Is Just A Kiss)”, or Burton and Taylor in Cleopatra, or Westley and Buttercup in the final scene of The Princess Bride (rated the most passionate and purest kiss of all time), but, hey, they were snakes.  They probably weren’t going to be chosen to be on “Dancing With The Stars”, either. . . . . Those Are Not Rocks

Somehow, Matt’s boat began taking on water, and the bilge pump wasn’t big enough to keep up, so Matt decided  he’d  just swim to shore.  As he got closer, he realized those were not rocks. . . . . . David, Sf.G.
