He’s My Rebel

Justine (3rd from left, front row) has been dating Seth ( All black and white–no brown,  left middle) over her parents’ objection.  She just couldn’t help humming the old 60’s song, “He’s a Rebel” by the Crystals–“He’s a rebel and he’ll never ever be any good; he’s a rebel ’cause he never does what he should, just because his beak doesn’t tip like ours does, doesn’t mean I can’t give him all my love . . .”

Doctor, My Eyes

Jeremy had seen it all at the “Petting Zoo”–first, they changed his name to “Bullwinkle,” then they fed him hay instead of letting him browse on willow and underwater plants, then talked about and discarded  an idea to saddle him to give undisciplined kids rides, and now were thinking of having him play a camel.  He found himself humming the old Jackson Brown song line, “Doctor, my eyes . . .”

Whiter Shade of Pale

Gretchen knew her sometimes boyfriend Donny considered himself a romantic, but wished he would quit humming the music to the old rock tune “Whiter Shade of Pale” or at least get the tune right . . .

Lovin’ Spoonbills

The girls, desperately wanting to launch their music careers, all agreed that John Sebastian and the Lovin’ Spoonfuls from the late 1960’s and 70’s  were the best.  They thought that they might gain some brand recognition by calling themselves the Lovin’ Spoonbills.  They were currently working on their version of  Summer in the City . . .”Hot time, summer in the city . . .”
