Crowd Control

The police had declined to issue the permit for the protest. Both political parties had dogs in this fight; one thought that the immigration law was too tough, the other not tough enough. When the locals heard that their congressman was coming to town, everybody had something to say, and the crowd was turning ugly. The police were not sure the fence was going to hold.

Artiste

Carmine had listed her occupation as “Artiste” rather than flower or even “State of Texas icon”.  True, she didn’t actually paint or sculpt, but in the springtime she felt pretty artsy . . .

Color of the Day

Imogene, while listening to AM radio late one night, heard someone who claimed to be a registered therapist state unequivocally that we should wake up each morning, look in the mirror, and ask, “Do we really want to be that person–are we happy?”  That morning, as she looked in the mirror, she wondered, do I really want to be red? . . . .  David, Sf.G.
