Coat of Many Colors

Kenny got reminded of the Bible story of Joseph’s coat of many colors almost daily by his classmates, and the truth be told, he thought it did make him look pretty cool.  His real hope is that it made him some kind of a “chick magnet”.  He hoped it wasn’t just seasonal  breeding plumage that would  fade as spring faded into summer and the breeding season passed for the year . . .

Dismal Failure

Lyndon Johnson’s wife, Lady Bird, had enjoyed huge success when she planted wild flowers along along many of the Texas highways, creating a stunning sight every spring.  Her attempt to reforest lower Manhattan along the Hudson River hadn’t enjoyed the same success. . .

Haiku

The boys were getting ready for spring mating, practicing their love songs and hoping for the best.  Jim and LeRoy (center) were going to try a duet–the Everly Brothers’ Unchained Melody; Thom (left) was practicing his Tom Jones version of What’s New Pussy Cat? ; and Izzy (right)  was going to try something different– Japanese Haiku–hoping the cosmopolitan, intellectual, brainy approach might attract a better class of mate. . .

Finally

Finally, winter seemed to be over after one of the longest, coldest winters in history.  Now the girls could shed that extra winter fluff and get back to being slim and sun-browned.  They also planned to write to Al Gore and see about this global warming thing . . .

Cross Pollination

Kiki and her twin sister Cookie were good girls from a good family, but it was spring time, and the pollen was in the air . . .  They had listed their Facebook status as single but looking, but already that bad boy across the field, the one with the crooked petals, was claiming on his recent Facebook status update, and on Twitter, that he had cross pollinated with both of the sisters one breezy day. How were they going to put that lying piece of slander to rest and keep their good name? . . . .  David, Sf.G.
