Focus Groups

Jin Yen Wu just couldn’t believe it; the participants in the American focus groups didn’t embrace his concept of urban transportation for the new century in spite of their recently re-elected president supposedly fighting for lowered fuel consumption and Al Gore jumping on the band wagon with him.  The problem seemed to revolve around difficulty in cornering with a full load of soccer girls and one or two soccer moms.  There was also a question about cup holders . . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Whatever Floats Your Boat

When Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal visited Amsterdam,  Holland, to look for ideas for New Orleans to better cope with low elevations and maybe turn the situation into something positive, he was shown the “brick houseboat”.  This unique craft was supposedly built by one of the three little pigs going the extra mile to defeat the wolf. All the Governor could say was, “Whatever floats your boat”.  . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Safety Issues

Better Than a Chevy Volt

While touring China, the President saw what he thought of as an excellent alternative to big gas guzzling campers. It was cheaper to run than a Chevy Volt–in fact, it could be run on beans and cabbage for the pedaler.  It sounded like a dream come true, the best of all worlds including exercise for the operator, until someone on staff pointed out the methane issue from the “processed” cabbage and beans that could cause global warming. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Just the Thing

Yogi’s wife had said that she wanted a new vehicle, maybe like an SUV.  She explained her logic, “tall so I can see in heavy traffic, heavy for protection in case of an accident, and able to carry a big load.”  He was quite disappointed in his wife’s reaction; he thought he had found just the thing. . . . .  David, Sf.G.
