Bling and Flash

Bonnie had done better at the local Karaoke bars singing than she had anticipated, and now she was headed for Nashville–country was her thing. But, she realized, in addition to Dolly Parton’s “big hair,” Rock stars like Madonna and Lady Gaga, also crowd pleasers, were never were short of bling and flash, and she thought she would follow suit. To begin with, she was thinking gold nails with mother of pearl inlays, spelling her name–either Gator Girl or Gator Baby–but decided not to use her boyfriend’s suggestion “Cold-Hearted Mama”.

Romulan Cloaking Device

Gerry, always a big Star Trek fan, saw some real benefits to the Romulan Cloaking technology, and as a proponent of developing local technology, decided to try to combine the systems. It was a work in progress . . .

A Kiss is Still A Kiss

True, it didn’t summon up memories of Bogart and Bergman with Sam playing “As Time Goes By (A Kiss Is Just A Kiss)”, or Burton and Taylor in Cleopatra, or Westley and Buttercup in the final scene of The Princess Bride (rated the most passionate and purest kiss of all time), but, hey, they were snakes.  They probably weren’t going to be chosen to be on “Dancing With The Stars”, either. . . . . Those Are Not Rocks

Somehow, Matt’s boat began taking on water, and the bilge pump wasn’t big enough to keep up, so Matt decided  he’d  just swim to shore.  As he got closer, he realized those were not rocks. . . . . . David, Sf.G.

Alligator Shoes

Elizabeth had heard about alligator shoes for years and finally thought it might be time to buy some.  The problem was where?  If she bought them online, they might not fit right, or they could be from China and made with questionable materials, but she just couldn’t find anything at the mall that would fit or look good in any kind of material.  One snotty young shoe store clerk with spiky pink hair, enough metal ornamentation in piercings to start her own metal recycling business, and earbuds so loud that Elizabeth could hear the hip hop boom and percussion from ten feet away sneered, “Looks like you’re stuck with flip flops, girl”. . . . . . Skin Condition

Vinnie had always wanted to be a politician, maybe start running for school board, work up to county commissioner, then try for the House, or maybe governor.  His concern was that he didn’t have smooth skin–everyone knew politicians were supposed to be slick.  His dermatologist suggested that he cut back on his insect consumption and try more green leafy vegetables, avoid direct sunlight, and get more exercise.  He was having trouble with the green leafy vegetable part, they kept sticking to his long sticky frog tongue and were hard to swallow.  How do you enunciate clearly while giving a speech with kale stuck to your tongue? . . . . .
