Further Than it Looks on the Map

When Gwen told her friends that she had always wanted to visit Cuba, they told her, “Look at the map, it looks like it’s just over the horizon.”  On the map, the distance from Galveston to Cuba was only a couple of fingers wide, but once under way it seemed to be farther than it looked . . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Double Trouble

Everyone told JoAnn that twins were a double blessing.  After both had Whooping Cough at the same time, then both getting into poison ivy, then getting expelled from kindergarten fot trying to do Old MacDonald had a farm by passing gas (in two part harmony) for show and tell, she thought  twins were not the blessing she had hoped for. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Speed Dating

Eugenia had not had much success in finding a boyfriend, much less someone to marry, and she was worried that her biological clock was ticking.   Speed dating seemed a little over the top, but then she was a little desperate.  Her sister had told her the reason she had run off the boys in the past was that she was a little too aggressive, too forward.  She promised herself she would keep that in mind.  . . . .  David, Sf.G.
