Pollster Blues

Lonnie (pictured) had recently gotten his first cell phone and a wireless tablet, and apparently someone had immediately data mined his information and sold it to the pollsters.  Just today he was asked what he thought of the Trayvon Martin case, the stand your ground laws, Obama Care, immigration reform and did he prefer WalMart over Target?   Maybe his pre-wireless ignorance had been bliss . . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Bear Market

Julius had heard over the weekend on one of the Sunday Morning TV interview shows that we were now in a “Bear Market.”  He hadn’t realized that it was legal to trade bears; was this going to be on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange?  Would there be puts and calls and bear futures contracts?  And most important, how would buyers take delivery?. . . .  David, Sf.G.

Authority Issues

Ronald couldn’t help it; he had a real problem with authority figures.  When his professor at the agricultural college told him to plow straight rows, Ronald was OK until the very end, then his problem with authority kicked in once again. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Love Potion #9

In spite of his bright coloring, Larry had been a flop with chicks, since 1996.  He wondered if he needed a little Love Potion #9. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Should’a Made a Right . . .

Some time back, LaVerne and his girlfriend Lucille, from Tennessee, thought that since they didn’t have jobs anyway, they should maybe head up to New York and join the “Occupy” crowd. Maybe they would get noticed by the TV guys and get offered a part in one of “Reality” shows.  They didn’t have a GPS, and Lucille wasn’t much of a navigator, so they made a left on US Hwy 2 and ended up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Somehow, getting to New York or a part in a reality show didn’t seem that important any more . . . .  David, Sf.G.

There Goes the Neighborhood

Jack could only stand there and shake his head sadly; the Forest Service people were putting up signs that said the area would be open to ATV’s in the summer and Snowmobiles in the winter.  He hadn’t minded the loggers so much, they came, cut and then left, but this had a more permanent feel to it.  All he could say was, “There goes the neighborhood” . . . .  David, Sf.G.
