Transformers
Huey had come to Los Angeles to try for a part in one of the Transformer movie series, or maybe a spin-off of one of the Godzilla flicks, and had counted on perhaps being a parking valet to pay the bills while waiting for his big break. For some reason, the rich guys and the cool chicks didn’t seem to want him driving their cars, even just to the parking lot. They kept muttering something about Betelgeuse on the seats and steering wheel . . .
Close Quarters
Conrad had decided to purchase his new condo on eBay. The advertisement claimed it was “Top floor, compact efficiency–simple maintenance, ideal for the single guy. Great views.” Maybe, he thought after getting the keys at closing, he should have actually visited the property rather than relying on the slick virtual tour on line . . .”
Secret DARPA Project
A little known DARPA project involved using “black budget” money for modifying dragonflies to act as miniature drones to gather data in sensitive areas. So far though, the dragonfly’s somewhat erratic flight pattern, designed to catch and eat mosquitoes, has thus far yielded little usable data.
