Tabloid Turnoff

Janine was beginning to think her mother either had early onset Alzheimer’s or was just plain wacko.  Her mother claimed, and swore it was true (you know the major papers don’t lie), that tabloids claimed Condoleeza Rice was converting to Islam along with President Obama, and after the conversions, she was becoming his second wife and working for ACORN doing community organizing.  As soon as the FBI released the paparazzis’  camera memory cards, there would be photographic proof–provided the photos didn’t implicate Michael Jackson or Elvis. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Avoiding Service

Larry didn’t really want a divorce–he had no idea his wife was thinking of a divorce until his buddy, Gregg, texted him and said the process server was looking for him.  Trying to keep a low profile, Larry hung back in the bushes; he realized it wasn’t great cover, but on the beach the options are somewhat limited.  Maybe if he stood real still. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

I Must Hurry

Zoe had really begun to believe that the social media thing had some possibilities besides just being used for starting revolutions in the Middle East; a case in point, her girl friend Chloe had just texted her that the University of Phoenix (on line) was having a jobs fair in the park, and at the last minute, they had gotten Al Gore and his band The AlGoreRhythms to to do a gig.  All she could say was, “Wow, The AlGoreRhythms, I must hurry”.  . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Hotel California

Jeanny and Bob had been driving down the remote Texas beach all day in four wheel drive to fish and play in the surf, and they were getting tired.  Up ahead a hotel came into view, and it didn’t look like a typical mainstream chain-hotel sort of place.  The unusual decor drew them closer, when suddenly their car stereo turned itself on and began playing, “Welcome to the Hotel California, such a lovely place, such a lovely place.”. . . . .
