Fencing Sale

Conrad thought he’d fence his yard to keep out stray dogs, noisy neighbor kids, and just to have a little privacy. After checking Home Depot and Lowes, his brother suggested he check the Internet, and not surprisingly, a number of Chinese merchants offered fencing for substantially less money. Though priced lower than he had expected, Conrad had some doubts that the merchant could actually deliver the product pictured on the website . . .

Home Improvement

Jack (pictured, blue shirt) had seen the Marble Arch in London and thought it would be just the thing to spiff up his ranch in Montana; to his surprise, it was not for sale, at any price. What’s more, none of the home improvement stores back home–Lowe’s, Home Depot–had any plans available or ideas on how to build one; they couldn’t even suggest a contractor, although he found two offered on eBay and three on Craigslist for Nigeria.

Twisted Logic

Dmitri was at a loss–the old guy had come to Home Depot in Prague to buy double pane glass for the two windows that had single pane glass, confident the new double pane glass would cut his heating bill significantly.  Somehow (maybe too much slivovitz in his breakfast coffee) he failed to understand that not also fixing the totally missing panes with something, even single pane just wasn’t going to help . . .

Rough Skin

Ellie had had a patch of very rough skin for some time and asked her dermatologist about microdermabrasion to solve the problem.  The doctor, still unsure how she would get paid with the new healthcare law going into effect, suggested a cheaper alternative–Go to Home Depot and get the biggest, most powerful belt sander available . . . .  David, Sf.G.

New Markets
