Sequestration

Sequester Blues

Carla was pretty sure that the President could have done something to keep the air traffic controllers on the job, allowing her to swoop down and catch a mouse or rat for lunch as needed.  But no, she was told to hold in the pattern for the time being; no telling how long that would last, and she had problems with low blood sugar if she didn’t eat regularly . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Alternative Energy

Billy was growing more concerned by the day; his check for developing a wind power alternative energy system from the government hadn’t come.  He was beginning to doubt that it would, and he was miffed.  If Solindra could get $500 million in government-backed loans for s solar/electric system that didn’t work, why couldn’t he get a measly $5 million for his wind system? While not perfect, it did pump water as promised.   Must be more of  that sequestration nonsense . . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Where Rattles Come From

Like alligators (everyone else has crocodiles and caimans), rattlesnakes are found only in the Americas.  Huey wondered where they got their rattle, and after several difficult months and the freedom of information act, he was able to discover that the rattles were grown in a covert organic rattle farm in Oregon and drop shipped to each rattlesnake several times a year, no charge, courtesy of the government.  Now, the sequestration and lack of funding made it seem likely that the program would be cut, and another unique North American species would become ordinary. . . . .  David, Sf.G.

Not Exactly Clear

First it had been the “Fiscal Cliff,” now the “Sequestration” with both sides blaming the other, and both sides making wildly different claims as to the final outcome and how to fix it.  To Jim it was all about as clear as a foggy morning at the seaside.. . . .  David, Sf.G.
